Ronnie Mack, a student at KIPP High School, earned a Division 1 victory in the American Legion Department of North Carolina’s oratorical contest. Certified by Commander Dave Sammons on March 7, Mack will now represent the region at the state-level competition.

Nelsonville American Legion Post 229 welcomes neighbors and visitors to a hearty breakfast of sausage gravy, biscuits, and home fries. Taking place on Saturday, October 18, the event offers both dine-in and carryout options.

The Johnson Creek American Legion will once again host its monthly meat raffle on Saturday, Oct. 4. Locals look forward to the event as a regular opportunity to gather and enjoy a community tradition.
