Salzburg’s salute to Mozart turned sour when hundreds of gleaming statuettes vanished from a display honoring the composer’s 270th birthday. Unveiled on July 15 by the Mozarteum Foundation, the installation was designed by German conceptual artist Ottmar Hörl. Officials announced Wednesday that the tribute is now missing many of its prized figures.
