Arrowhead Game Studios has pledged to fix Helldivers 2’s most pressing performance issues, including crashing and audio glitches, through an update planned for mid-October. Larger improvements, however, will require more than two months to fully implement.

The creative director behind Helldivers 2 expresses a mixture of excitement and hesitation about revisiting the chaotic co-op classic that helped launch developer Arrowhead. Though a follow-up may not appear anytime soon, he says he’s leaving the door open for a potential comeback.
