Jean Prewitt, the longtime president and CEO of the Independent Film & Television Alliance, is stepping down after 25 years. Her departure coincides with the close of this year’s American Film Market, marking the end of an era for IFTA and the wider independent film community.

“New Clothes,” produced by the Brattleboro-based Vermont Suitcase Company, took home Best Narrative Feature and Best Emerging Filmmakers at the Vermont Film Festival in Woodstock. Announced at the beginning of August, these accolades showcase the vibrant creative talent in the region.
