The Indianola City Council, meeting this evening after being delayed by Labor Day, plans to consider staffing assessments. Council members will also review appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Library Board of Trustees.

The City of Indianola and Simpson College launched a Town and Gown Committee in December 2023 to foster stronger bonds between local government and higher education. Originally spearheaded by former Mayor Stephanie Erickson and Simpson President Jay Byers, the initiative continues under current Mayor Steve Richardson.

Pella Christian extended its strong season start by defeating Indianola 7-4 on Monday evening. Both teams split singles 3-3, but the Eagles’ doubles performance sealed their fifth victory of the year, bringing their overall record to 5-1.
