Massachusetts is experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures more akin to summer, but this balmy stretch is expected to end soon. Forecasts predict that while Monday will stay mostly warm and clear, rain is on the horizon for the Bay State.

A cool, dry wave will grace Massachusetts and New Hampshire early this week before humidity makes a swift comeback. Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon projects scattered showers later in the week, offering a hint of relief for drought-stricken areas.

Hurricane Erin, currently a Category 2 storm, is expected to pass more than 300 miles southeast of the region. While projections show its center remaining offshore, forecasters note that local impacts, including rip currents and variable weather, could still occur.
