This fall, Congregation B’nai Israel in Vallejo will welcome a Philadelphia-based Rabbinic student for the High Holidays. The synagogue, entering its second year as an affiliate, aims to bring fresh perspectives to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.

A virtual retreat series, “Praying with Julian of Norwich,” invites participants to reflect on spiritual themes over six Monday evenings this fall. Led by Benedictine Oblate Steven Blum, Ph.D., and sponsored by St. Benedict Center, the sessions run from 7-8 p.m. CDT on Sept. 22, Oct. 6, Oct. 20, Nov. 3, and Nov. 17.

As the school year concludes, churches across the Valley are preparing to welcome children to engaging and themed vacation Bible schools. These weeklong programs offer creativity, excitement, and opportunities for spiritual growth to both volunteers and participants alike.
