Valve’s new Steam Machine is finally here, kicking off at an unexpectedly high $1,049. While the company admits that “our original goal for the price… is no longer viable,” its latest hardware still promises up to 2TB of storage and an optional Steam Controller.

Valve has introduced a single, randomized queue to distribute its Steam Machine due to limited availability and to deter resellers. Sign-ups are open until June 25, giving a select group the opportunity to purchase the hardware later this year.
