The U.S. Coast Guard used force to stop a migrant boat off the coast of Imperial Beach, resulting in the apprehension of three undocumented migrants from Mexico and Turkey.

A corrections officer testified that she attempted to calm a patient before he was restrained and died at the state prison’s psychiatric unit. The testimony came during the trial of a former officer accused of killing the patient.
