Overview
Drivers in Northeast Philadelphia are being advised to brace for significant roadwork on Interstate 95. The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 24, and is expected to complicate area travel for up to two weeks.
Affected Ramp
The construction centers on the Castor Avenue ramp, which feeds into both northbound and southbound lanes of I-95. Officials noted that this ramp’s closure could create additional congestion, uplifting the need for careful planning.
Expected Delays
Daytime and overnight restrictions will be in place for the duration of the work. These temporary closures mean travelers should not assume that non-peak hours will necessarily offer smoother traffic flows.
Driver Advisory
Commuters are encouraged to plan for extra travel time, explore alternative routes, or consider adjusting commuting hours if possible. Early awareness and preparation may help drivers navigate the coming disruptions more smoothly.
Looking Ahead
Though the construction is slated to last roughly two weeks, authorities are urging motorists to stay tuned for any updates or changes. By remaining informed, travelers in Northeast Philadelphia can minimize potential inconvenience—and stay safe on the road.
